Business Unit DescriptionIBM China Research Laboratory is growing its information management department in 2006. The department is dedicated to advancing information management technology on the next generation Web, e.g. Semantic Web. One of its mission is to develop key technology for ontology management. Collaborating with IBM world wide research team and academic research, the research team is going to promote the ontology research from academic to industry use and differentiate the information management software and service.
Job DescriptionResearch on semantic technology focusing on persistent ontology repository, scalable data processing and relationship knowledge discovery, targeted to high quality research publication or high performance prototype implementation
QualificationsPh.D or Master Degree majored in CS, Math, or related
Desired Experience1) research experience on semantic technology, especially on ontology repository and inference ------ A/B
2) research experience on information retrieval, especially on graph indexing ------ A/B
3) research experience on database, data warehouse and OLAP, especially on graph data management ------ B/C
4) research experience on knowledge discovery and data mining, especially on graph mining ------ C
5) development experience in C/C++ or JAVA ------ B
6) communication and teamwork skill ------ B
7) english paper writing skill ------ B

Skill Level Description:
A - Extensive and comprehensive experience, comprehensive knowledge, can give expert advice and lead others to perform.
B - Repeated experience without assistance, has in-depth knowledge, can direct other in performing;
C - Has performed independently in routine situations, can perform with assistance, has applied knowledge;
D - Very limited experience, has general knowledge only;
E - No experience, limited knowledge;
